"The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2:3-5

About Me

Oregon, United States
I am a happy, Christian, wife and post-homeschooling mother. I have spent the last several years homeschooling and now I am "adjusting" to a new season of life as "empty nester". In 2010 we moved to be Host/Caretakers at a Bible Camp. We look at our ministry here as preparing the way for the gospel to be shared as well as encouraging believers in their daily walk. I am a farmgirl at heart and love the country, I love gardening and food preserving. I also, love tea parties!! I also have a Titus 2 heart and want to share with anyone willing to listen and learn. I love having friends over and teaching them how to make bread or put up pickles. And as we work, I love to encourage them to love their husbands and their children and to be Keepers at Home and all that implies and I love that you let me do that here!! Hope you enjoy visiting my farm and walking through a journey in life with me.......I hope at some point in time I can encourage you in your walk and in your home..........

Favorite Book.....

This is one of my very, very favorite books that we used during High School. "Training Our Daughters to be Keepers at Home" by Ann Ward.
It covers 7 years in all!!
You would start it in about Jr. High.
It has page after page of instructions in life skills and also
much Godly wisdom!!

Just look at some of the reading list over the 7 years: Kings Daughter, Dear Princess, Hidden Art, Pursuit of Holiness, The Other Side of the Garden......and the list goes on. Amazing!!
Covers basic cooking, sewing, gardening and many other hand skills. In later years it even gets into child care and more advanced skills.

I loved it!! Check it out sometime! :)

Tea Time.........

Hmmmm......do I see a Tea Party in the making.....Chamomile drying (perhaps to blend with my peppermint and spearmint for a wonderful "Garden Blend" to serve hot), Basil in the Pot (looks like the making of Basil Ribbon sandwiches) and my favorite Tea recipes at hand......
This week I am busy putting cookies and tarts and Canape in the freezer for the Garden Tea next week....oh yes, along with all the zucchini to work on. :)

Blessings.........

This is my favorite room, especially in the winter, it is a warm sunny spot for a cup of tea.......the blessing of warm,
cozy places!
This is one of those times, that I cannot just run out and buy a shower or wedding gift. So, off to the sewing shed to see what we have. First, I did look at this couples gift registry on line.....finding that ALL her appliances are RED!! Her KithenAid is red, her blender is red, crockpot, ricecooker.....all red!!!!! Some of the kitchen towels she chose are taupe.......so here is what I found, we will see what I come up with before the wedding.........the blessing of
having a stash!

From the garden today.........just calling for a nice, cool summer colorful green salad to take to potluck tonight. The blessing of seeing the fruits of your labor!

At camp last weekend, the Friday night speaker was a young man who lives here locally. Afterwards he and his family handed out all these awesome resources!! Most I have not read completely, some I know people do not like.......but overall, they are loaded with truth from God's word........things like this you must glean what you can from it, rather than toss out the whole idea. You know......

"don't throw the baby out with the bath water!"

The blessing of generous people!!!!
All in all, I would have to say I have had a

BLESSED DAY!!!!
